Feature Satisfaction Survey

A feature-specific satisfaction survey that measures how happy users are with a particular feature or workflow. Unlike a general NPS survey, this template targets users who have actively used a specific feature and asks them to rate it in context.
When to Use This Template
Trigger this survey after a user completes a specific workflow 3 or more times, indicating they have enough experience to provide meaningful feedback. Show it inline within the feature area rather than as a generic popup.
Template Breakdown
Identify the feature context
Display the survey in the feature area with a clear label — e.g., "Quick question about the reporting dashboard" — so the user knows exactly which feature they are evaluating.
Ask the satisfaction question
Present "How satisfied are you with [Feature Name]?" using a 1-5 star scale or a 0-10 NPS scale. Stars feel more natural for feature-level feedback, while NPS enables standard benchmarking.
Ask what could be improved
Show a follow-up text field asking "What would make this feature more useful for you?" This open-ended question surfaces specific product improvement ideas.
Offer to join a feedback group
Invite interested users to join a beta tester group or customer advisory panel for this feature. Capture their consent with a checkbox so the product team can follow up for deeper research.
Best Practices
- Survey only users who have used the feature recently (within the last 7 days) so feedback is based on current experience.
- Aggregate feature satisfaction scores across all features to create a priority matrix for your product roadmap.
- Close the loop by sharing what you built based on feedback — "You asked, we built" updates increase future response rates.
- Limit each user to one feature survey per month to avoid survey fatigue.
- Include the feature satisfaction score in your product health dashboard alongside usage metrics.
