A structured form that captures feature requests in a format that helps the product team evaluate, prioritize, and respond to user suggestions. It goes beyond "what do you want" to understand the user's underlying problem, desired outcome, and willingness to pay.
Show this template when a user selects "Request a Feature" from the feedback widget, help menu, or roadmap page. It can also be linked from "Feature not available" messages or upgrade prompts.
Ask "What problem are you trying to solve?" instead of "What feature do you want?" This frames the request around the user's need, giving the product team flexibility in the solution.
Ask "What would a successful solution look like for you?" to capture the user's ideal end state. This helps distinguish between the specific feature they envision and the underlying outcome they need.
Ask "How are you solving this problem today?" to understand the user's current workflow and the pain level. Users with painful workarounds represent higher-priority requests.
Ask "How important is this to you?" with options: "Critical — blocking my work," "Important — would save me significant time," "Nice to have — would improve my experience." This helps with prioritization.
Submit the request, provide a reference number, and optionally offer to notify the user when the feature is planned, in progress, or shipped. Link to the public roadmap if available.
