Product tour software without per-MAU pricing

By Olli, founder of Produktly · Updated Oct 9, 2026

Produktly is not priced per monthly active user (MAU) or per seat. Plans cost €19, €59 or €199 per month and include a monthly allowance of triggers: the moments a user actually interacts with a widget, such as starting a tour or completing a checklist step. Users who never see a widget cost nothing, so a large user base with light onboarding stays on a low plan.

How per-MAU pricing works

Most product tour tools, including Userpilot, UserGuiding, Userflow, Appcues, Chameleon, Jimo, HelpHero and Product Fruits, price by monthly active (or tracked) users. Every user your app reports in a month counts, whether or not they saw a single tour. The price rises in steps as you grow, and above some volume many vendors only give a quote.

How Produktly counts usage

  • A trigger is one interaction: a user starts or resumes a product tour, completes a checklist step, sends feedback or a feature request, reads a changelog post from the last week, or sees a smart tip.
  • Plans include 2,000, 7,500 or 50,000+ triggers a month. Roadmap and announcement views have their own, larger allowance (50,000, 200,000 or 1,000,000+ views).
  • Team members are included: 3, 20 or 50+ depending on the plan, with no per-seat charge.
  • If you go over: Produktly asks you to upgrade or unpublish some widgets. Only if you go far over and do not upgrade does it stop serving widgets for the rest of the month.

Two worked examples

  • 2,000 monthly users: 800 start the onboarding tour, 300 complete a 4-step checklist (1,200 steps) and 200 see a smart tip. That is 2,200 triggers, so the Startup plan at €59/month.
  • 10,000 monthly users: 2,000 start a tour, 1,000 complete a 4-step checklist (4,000 steps) and 500 see a smart tip. That is 6,500 triggers, still the Startup plan at €59/month.

When per-MAU pricing can be cheaper

Trigger pricing follows how much onboarding you show, not how many users you have. If almost every user goes through long checklists and several tours every month, triggers add up and you may need the Growth plan (€199/month, 50,000+ triggers). For a small app with heavy onboarding, a low MAU band elsewhere can cost about the same.

Monthly price at 2,000, 5,000 and 10,000 MAUs

Frequently asked questions

Is Produktly priced per monthly active user?

No. Plans are €19, €59 or €199 per month with an allowance of triggers (user interactions with widgets), whatever your number of monthly active users.

What is a trigger in Produktly?

One user interaction: starting or resuming a product tour, completing a checklist step, sending feedback or a feature request, reading a changelog post from the last week, or seeing a smart tip. Roadmap and announcement views are counted separately.

Does Produktly charge per seat?

No. Plans include 3, 20 or 50+ team members.

What happens if I go over my trigger allowance?

Produktly asks you to upgrade or unpublish some widgets. If you go far over and do not upgrade, it stops serving widgets until the allowance resets next month.
