Reactions and comments

You can enable reactions and comments on your changelog posts to let your users engage with your updates.

Enabling reactions and comments

In the changelog editor, toggle Allow reactions and/or Allow comments in the settings section.

  • Allow reactions - Users can react to posts with a heart icon
  • Allow comments - Users can leave comments on posts
  • Auto-approve comments - When enabled, comments appear immediately. When disabled, comments require manual approval in the moderation dashboard

Comment moderation

When comments require approval, you can manage them from the Comments button at the top of the changelog editor page. The button shows the number of pending comments that need review.

From the moderation page you can:

  • Approve comments to make them visible
  • Reject comments to keep them hidden
  • Delete comments permanently
  • Filter by All / Pending / Approved

You can also see pending comment counts on the changelogs overview page.

Identified users

If you use Produktly.identifyUser() to identify your users, their identity will be used for reactions and comments automatically. This means:

  • Their reactions persist across sessions and devices
  • Comments can be attributed to their identity

For anonymous users, a random ID is generated and stored locally. Anonymous users are rate-limited to prevent abuse.

Text customization

All comment-related text strings can be customized and translated via the Comments text customization section in the changelog editor. This includes:

  • Anonymous author label
  • Empty state message
  • Loading message
  • Input placeholders
  • Submit button text
  • Submission confirmation message

These strings support full localization if you have multiple languages enabled.
